Passchendaele, Belgium - Near Laamkeek Pillboxes
Looking across the Ravebeek Valley with Passchendaele Village and Tyne Cot in the distance on the ridge lines. The Laamkeek group of pillboxes was near the farmhouse. The freshly ploughed ground is a reminder of the colour of the ground churned up by trenches and shell fire in October 1917. The Ravebeek creek is at the bottom of the valley. This provided some shelter to troops wounded in the attack of 12 October.
